Gray, Robin

United Kingdom

I have been an artist and teacher since 1964 and have managed to combine teaching with a successful career as an artist becoming well know for ‘Organic Abstracts’. In the 1970s I was introduced to the world of caving and cave exploration which I still enjoy. It was soon after discovering the excitment of caving that I started painting pictures of caves based on drawings that I did
underground. Friends soon saw the work and wanted to own some. I descided to have a stall at a cavers fair and it proved very popular. I then met several other cavers who also did work relating to caves and we set up a group. The group is called the International Society for Spelaeological Art. I have shown my cave work in many parts of the world.
